We have many things up our sleeves…
Naturopathic doctors do have the capability of doing laboratory tests, like blood work, urinalysis, pregnancy tests etc.
Please note that whenever possible I will try to work with your medical doctors so we can do tests that are covered by OHIP when we can, provided your medical doctor is willing to work with you and your financial concerns and clinically supports our direction. Some tests are just not covered by OHIP, and we then may decide to utilize other laboratories.
Here is a brief outline of the laboratories and their specific tests I may use to assist with diagnosis. This list is not exhaustive, and I will use what is required to get to the root of your concerns.
Food allergy testing, Celiac disease testing, Amino Acid tests (protein building-blocks that are essential for brain neurochemistry), Essential Fats
A company that specializes in analysis of metabolites involved in brain neurochemistry. Neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and epinephrine to name a few are analyzed through urine. Hormones can also be assessed through saliva and blood serum.
All of the standard blood testing can be done (iron, B12, cholesterol etc) as well as specific allergy tests.
Lactose intolerance testing and lactulose breath tests for SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)
Stool samples of any kind including urinalysis for toxic heavy metals
Rocky Mountain Analytical
Female Hormone Panels, Food Allergy and Intolerance Testing
Test costs cannot be reduced as the laboratory has dictates these costs based on materials and labour.
Test cost ranges from $5 – $500 depending on what is necessary. We can discuss budget and resources if this is a concern.
